| Reservation Policies & Procedures
RESERVATIONS:
Dana Island Yachts currently accepts bookings only via telephone or in-person. Your credit card will be charged at the time of booking to confirm your reservation. If you wish to pay with cash or travelers cheque on the day of the charter, you must notify us when you make the reservation. Payments via cash still requires Dana Island Yachts to collect a credit card number, however, the card will not be charged unless you fail to arrive for your scheduled trip.
CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING:
Reservations made for any date are non-cancelable and non-refundable.
To reschedule your trip you must contact us no less than 3 days prior to your charter date. If a reservation is made within three days of the charter date, or made for a date during the Festival of Whales, then no rescheduling is allowed..
Should you choose, for any reason, not to arrive for your whale watching trip on the scheduled date be advised that your credit card will not be refunded and you may not re-book your reservation without additional cost. Please allow plenty of driving time in case of bad traffic. Due to scheduling requirements, and out of courtesy to other passengers, we cannot delay departures. If you arrive late and miss the boat you will not receive a refund and you may not reschedule without an additional charge.
Dana Island Yachts reserves the right to cancel a reservation in the event of lower than anticipated sign-ups. We will notify you of the cancellation in advance of the charter date and a full refund will be given.
INCLEMENT WEATHER:
Cancellations due to inclement weather are fully at the discretion of the Dana Island Yachts. If we must cancel your trip because of unfavorable or unsafe weather conditions you will be given the options of rescheduling to an alternate date (pending availability) of your choice, or a full refund. Inclement weather is defined as rain (lengthy periods of heavy showers over a wide region of Southern California), strong sustained winds (over 20 knots), limited visibility due to dense fog, turbulent wave conditions, or any other situation that Dana Island Yachts considers a safety risk and/or could reduce passenger comfort.
GIFT CERTIFICATES (Non Donation):
If you do not redeem your whale watching Gift Certificate by the expiration date, you may retain the Certificate and redeem it during the next whale watching season (typically January through March). Redemption value is not to exceed the amount shown on the Certificate. Whale Watching Gift Certificates can be used at any time during the whale watching season, are non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and cannot be used for any other type of yacht charter.
GIFT CERTIFICATES (Donation):
Gift Certificates donated by Dana Island Yachts are null and void after expiration date.
Redemption value is not to exceed the amount shown on the Certificate. Donated Whale Watching Gift Certificates can be used only during the specified whale watching tour season, are non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and cannot be used for any other type of yacht charter. Blackout dates apply to donated gift certificates.
